Ghosts in the Night
by Katherine Rollins (USA)
illustrated by Mary Frances Parker

Ghosts in the night are scary.
Some are small. Some are big. Some are hairy.

They play tricks with shadows on the wall.
Was that a bump in the hall?

Now the bathtub is sliding down the stair!
What will be next, Daddy's chair?

I must stop them before my family wakes,
Or before the bathtub breaks.

How do you catch ghosts that fly,
When you see them zipping by?

I know one thing that scares ghosts in the night.
All I have to do is turn on a light.

Now you can tell everyone what to do,
If the ghosts in the night come to you.
