		<description>It is the nature of the telling of the tales, that  Scheherezade, leaves the beginning of the second story &#039;hanging&#039; so the Sultan will spare her life till he hears the next story. It is the premise of the whole 1001 nights. These stories were passed down from an oral tradition and would have been spoken aloud around campfires long before they were written down.
Burton was trying to translate into Victorian English, very old tales from the Arabic.

As for being boring, because it had interwoven tales?? Maybe the ipod generation needs to increase its attention span beyond that of 3.5 minutes and songs with simple repeating ad nauseum lyrics.</description>
